Event Description The US Lacrosse National Convention returned to the Pennsylvania Convention Center in downtown Philadelphia on January 11-14, 2007 and for the second straight year, attracted over 5,000 lacrosse enthusiasts. This event has established itself as the largest educational opportunity for US Lacrosse member coaches, officials, and administrators in the world.

Session Handouts If you were among the attendees at this year's event, but didn't have a chance to get a handout from one of the sessions, you can still download the information from Digitell's US Lacrosse Library, provided that the speaker has submitted the handout. The handouts will be available for free for 30 days. To access the presentation materials, use the promotional code "uslax2007" to open an account. Convention Schedule US Lacrosse has announced the general schedule for the 2007 National Convention. A more detailed schedule, including a breakdown of specific sessions, times and speakers, is attached below. These schedules are updated as of January 9 and are all in PDF format. Convention Strands The US Lacrosse National Convention utilizes a "strand" system to help guide attendees to sessions and presentations that will be of most interest and benefit to each individual. As a guideline, each session is earmarked as either being Level 1, 2, 3, or 4. The levels correspond to the general breakdown shown in the attached grid.
Keynote Speaker Noted educator and sociologist Jay Coakley, one of the leading national voices on the subject of sports in American society, will deliver the National Convention's opening address at the General Opening Session at 6 p.m. on Friday evening. Coakley, professor emeritus of sociology and the former director of the Center for the Study of Sport and Leisure at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs, will examine the current culture of the sport of lacrosse, including many of the factors that have shaped its past and some that may redefine its future. His presentation is titled "Lacrosse Doesn't Just Happen: Taking Charge of Our Future."
Convention Speakers Dom Starsia, head coach of defending NCAA men's lacrosse champion Virginia, and Jen Adams, the most valuable player of the 2005 IFWLA World Cup, are among the featured clinicians at this year's convention. • See the full list of convention speakers | Click here for pdf list of speakers

Women's Division Roundtable Breakfast and Youth Awards Breakfast Roundtable discussions on the state of women's lacrosse will be held from 8 to 9:15 a.m. Sunday on Level 5 of the Marriott. Tickets for this breakfast event are $10 each and can still be purchased on site at the Information Booth in the Convention Center. Tickets for Saturday's Youth Awards Breakfast, with featured Hall of Fame speaker Jack Emmer, are also available for purchase at the Convention's Information Booth. Tickets are priced at $15.
