Sterling H. "Skeet" Chadwick began his lacrosse career
at Towson High School, where he played two years of varsity lacrosse
under head coach and fellow Hall of Fame inductee Bill Thomas, and
won the Baltimore County Public School Championships of 1969 and
1970. He and fellow Hall of Fame Inductee Jack Thomas co-captained
these teams.
At Washingotn & Lee, Chadwick earned First-Team All-American
honors as a goalie in 1973 and 1974. In 1974, he received the Ensign
C. Markland Kelly, Jr., Memorial Award as the nation's top goalie.
A team co-captain of the third-ranked Generals in 1974, Chadwick
also earned Washington & Lee University's most valuable player
award that same year. He represented the generals in the 1974 North-South
Collegiate All-Star game, and was chosen as co-captain of the South
squad.
Chadwick was a member of the United States team that won the 1974
World Lacrosse Championships in Melbourne, Australia. He was also
selected to play for the United States Team in the 1978 World Lacrosse
Championships. Chadwick played club lacrosse for Cheasapeake Lacrosse
Club from 1975-79. He earned All-Club honors from 1976-78.
Chadwick was the Executor Director of the Lacrosse Foundation from
1975-77, and a Director of Hero's, Inc., from 1982-85.
