The Team
The 2002 U.S. Men's Team was selected after 121 of the nation's most outstanding players participated in a four-day tryout at the University of Delaware in June 2001. The final 23-man roster was chosen by 24 of the country's most respected collegiate and post-collegiate coaches. The U.S. Lacrosse Men's Division International Lacrosse Committee oversees the selection process.

Sponsors

The 2002 U.S. Men's Team had to raise approximately $200,000 to fund the costs associated with defending its world title. The costs included proper preparation in the form of exhibition games throughout the U.S., a pre-trip training camp, transportation, housing, meals, equipment, and medical supplies for the team and support personnel. These funds were generated through tax-deductible contributions from members of the team, families and friends, former national team players, corporate and foundation support, and members of the national lacrosse community. US Lacrosse would like to thank flagship sponsors Warrior Lacrosse, JP Morgan Chase and the Fred B. Snite Foundation, as well as premium sponsors Boathouse Sports, Competitive Edge Lacrosse, and the Law Brothers Company, for their support of the 2002 U.S. Men's Team.
