The women's national team program is comprised of three teams - the Elite, the Developmental and the Under-19. A brief explanation of each squad appears below.
Note: The 2008-09 player pool will be divided into the U.S. World Cup Training Team and the U.S. Developmental Team in October 2008.
The Elite (Standing Team) The Elite team represents the highest level of playing experience for women's lacrosse players and coaches in the United States, with the exception of a touring team. This squad is comprised of individuals who have demonstrated their exceptional abilities as lacrosse players with regards to skill but also through leadership and sportsmanship. The Elite squad is designed to prepare and train the best players in the country to compete against the best collegiate and international teams in the world. • Selection Process for Elite and Developmental Teams (pdf) • 2007-08 Elite Team Roster
The Developmental (Standing Team) The Developmental team program serves as a means by which the adult lacrosse player can gain greater exposure to international competition and continue to develop her skills with the aim of becoming a member of the Elite or World Cup team. The Under-19 Team The Under-19 team represents an opportunity for young women to get exposure to international competition at the National Team level through preparation for competition at the IFWLA World Championship. The U-19 squad is assembled for competition in thequadrennial championships, and its members must not have played at the collegiate level before competing in the World Championships. Touring Team • Roster for 2008 Prague Cup Tournament A Touring team is assembled by the coaching staff of the national teams program for participation in an international competition, other than a World Cup Championship. A Touring team represents the highest level of international and domestic competition and playing experience for women's lacrosse players and coaches in the United States. This squad is comprised of individuals who are currently or have been members of any of the U.S. national teams who have demonstrated their exceptional abilities as lacrosse players with regards to skill but also through leadership and sportsmanship.

The U.S Women's U-19 Team won the gold medal at the 2007 IFWLA World Championship and the U.S. National Team won the silver medal at the 2005 IFWLA World Cup. In addition, the Women's Touring Team won the championship at the 2008 Prague Cup Tournament. Thank you to all of the supporters.
