Lacrosse Magazine Announces Preseason Rankings
Gill, Adams Headline Player of the Year Selections
Baltimore — Virginia's Conor Gill and Maryland's Jen Adams have
been selected as the NCAA Division I preseason players of the year
in men's and women's lacrosse, respectively, by Lacrosse Magazine.
In the magazine's annual poll of coaches, Syracuse was selected
to repeat as the men's champion and Maryland was picked to win its
seventh straight women's championship.
In Division II, Limestone was picked to win the men's championship
and LeMoyne's Justin Kohlbrenner was selected as the preseason player
of the year. On the women's side, Bloomsburg was selected to win
the inaugural NCAA championship in the division and Bloomsburg's
Roxann Emerick was the choice for preseason player of the year.
In Division III, Middlebury is the selection to repeat at Division
III champions and the Panthers' Holt Hopkins is the preseason player
of the year pick. The College of New Jersey tops the women's preseason
poll and Amherst's Kristin Osborn was selected as the preseason
player of the year.
In men's junior colleges, Nassau Community College was selected
to win the NJCAA national title and Herkimer County CC's Jordan
Vettoretti is the preseason player of the year honoree.
