US Lacrosse Senior High School All-Star Games Held

Amherst, Mass. - US Lacrosse hosted its annual senior high school all-star games on June 29 at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst as part of the 2002 US Lacrosse Youth Festival. The Youth Festival, sponsored by Warrior, brings together more than 80 Under-13 and Under-15 teams from around the country each year and the high school all-star games are a big part of the weekend.

In this year's boys games, the North defeated the West by a score of 11-10 and the East defeated the South by a score of 22-11. Results of the girls game will be posted as soon as they become available.

Goalie Will Timbers (Underhill, Vt./Mt. Mansfield Union) earned MVP honors for the North in his team's 11-10 victory. Timbers made 11 saves in one half of play. Midfielder Kyle Morin (Hanover, N.H./Hotchkiss) paced the North offense with three goals and Joe D'Arrigo (Syracuse, N.Y./Henninger) added two goals. The West team got three goals each from Adam Smith (Bainbridge Island, Wash./Bainbridge Island), Andrew McQuiston (Birmingham, Mich./Birmingham Seaholm) and Paul Trahan (Birmingham, Mich./Birmingham Seaholm). Adam Kadro (Birmingham, Mich./Birmingham Seaholm) had a goal and an assist and earned team MVP honors.

The East team used a potent offense to defeat the South 22-12. Team MVP Brian Hubschmann (Short Hills, N.J./Delbarton) had five assists and Matt Warner (Corning, N.Y./Corning) had six goals to lead the effort. Adding three goals each for the East were Jamie Coffin (Greenwich, Conn./Brunswick School), Matt Poskay (Clark, N.J./Johnson) and Patrick Walsh (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh). Defenseman Dan Green (West Palm Beach, Fla./Palm Beach) earned MVP honors for the South. Joe Conner (Ijamsville, Md./Urbana) led the South with three goals and Andy Gallagher (Rockville, Md./DeMatha) and Bob Griebe (Bel Air, Md./Boys' Latin) had two goals apiece.
