STX Named New Partner for Men's National Teams

US Lacrosse selects STX as New Partner for
Men's National Teams

BALTIMORE — US Lacrosse today selected STX Lacrosse as the new official equipment and apparel sponsor of the US Lacrosse Men's National Teams Program. The sponsorship extends into 2009 and represents a substantial partnership between two organizations with deep roots in the game of lacrosse.

"The STX sponsorship will enable us to create a platform that will take the U.S. men's teams and the sport to the next level. With STX equipment, endorsement experience and partnership commitment, we feel that they give our men's national teams the best chance to defend their world titles," said US Lacrosse Men's Division Director Jody Martin.

"We're excited and proud to partner with STX, which has been an industry leader for decades and is a great ambassador for the sport of lacrosse. STX has long been a supporter of our men's national teams and the world games, and we're looking forward to this new level of partnership."

The partnership calls for STX Lacrosse to become the exclusive supplier of equipment and apparel for both the U.S. senior and under-19 teams. The organizations will work together on a four-year program to promote the national teams through a number of initiatives.

"It is with a great deal of enthusiasm that we partner with US Lacrosse to sponsor the men's national teams and promote the great sport of lacrosse," said Geoff Broderick, director of sales and marketing for STX. "We are excited to contribute all of our assets in this partnership with US Lacrosse to support the U.S. men's teams and the sport."

The 2006 U.S. Men's Team will compete in the International Lacrosse Federation (ILF) World Championship in London, Ontario, Canada, from July 13 to 22, 2006. Tickets are now on sale at www.2006worldlacrosse.com. The U.S. has won six straight and eight of nine ILF championships since the event's 1967 inception. John Desko, three-time NCAA Division I champion coach at Syracuse University, will serve as head coach of the 2006 U.S. Men's Team.
