BALTIMORE — US Lacrosse has renewed its partnership with the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA), a national organization that provides tools to youth sports coaches to help ensure that young athletes have positive, character-building experiences. The partnership runs through 2008.
"PCA has been a terrific partner of ours for the last several years and we’re extremely pleased to continue this relationship," said Joshua Christian, managing director of programs and services for US Lacrosse. "Their values align with ours and they help lacrosse coaches become much more effective coaches and mentors."
As part of the partnership, PCA will conduct two workshops at the 2008 US Lacrosse National Convention, provide workshops around to the country to US Lacrosse grant recipients, author articles for US Lacrosse’s monthly publication, Lacrosse magazine, and provide discounts for US Lacrosse members that take PCA’s Double-Goal Coach online workshop.
US Lacrosse became the first national partner of the PCA in 2001 and last year approximately 945 lacrosse coaches participated in PCA workshops made possible by US Lacrosse grants.
US Lacrosse, a 501(c)(3) corporation, is the national governing body for men’s and women’s lacrosse and includes more than 210,000 active members. For more information about the organization, please visit its Web site at www.uslacrosse.org.
